Israeli soldiers plundering, looting, pillaging and burning homes of displaced Palestinians in Gaza

Video footage shows Israeli soldiers occupying private homes of displaced Palestinians in Gaza, tampering with the clothes of Palestinian children in an abandoned home in the Jabalia refugee camp. This is not a new development.  Journalists and Israeli media have reported as early as late last year and early this year that looting private homes of Palestinians displaced by the war becoming a common occurrence.

As early as January of this year, Israeli media reported about IDF occupying homes of displaced Palestinians, and burning them. Information obtained by Haaretz indicates IDF commanders have ordered soldiers to set fire to abandoned Gaza homes without legal approval. Several hundred have already been irreparably damaged.

Another media outlet, +972 Magazine, reported that Israeli soldiers are looting Gaza homes en masse. On Feb 20, 2024, it reported that soldiers described how stealing Palestinian property has become totally routine in the Gaza war, with minimal pushback from commanders.
