Rescuing a Palestinian girl who'd been buried under the rubble after an Israeli attack in Gaza

One of many instances where Israel acted on its leaders' threat to bury Gazans under the rubble; once again, children remain the primary target of this killing and displacing campaign waged against civilians in Gaza.

In addition to the unknown number of children buried under the rubble, nearly 15,000 other children have been killed since the war began on Oct. 7, 2023, according to the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

It is estimated that about 10,000 victims of Israeli airstrikes are still trapped under the rubbl in collapsed buildings, due to the lack of heavy equipment or fuel needed to dig through the steel and concrete rubble in search of them.

"Gaza has become a graveyard for children, with thousands of others missing, their fates unknown," said Save the Children’s Regional Director for the Middle East Jeremy Stoner.

Would the Western world act with the same lack of concern and urgency, if just one of these scenes was depicting a child from the a Western nation-state?

UN: Thousands Buried Under the Rubble

In May, 2024, UN said that as many as 10,000 people feared buried under the rubble in Gaza.

Isaeli leaders have stated on October 8, 2023, that they will turn Gaza into rubble:

The death of Palestinians whom Israeli forces buried under the Rubble started on day one

Within the same month, October 2023, Israeli media reported that "Many Killed in Gaza Were Buried Under the Rubble. They Died Slowly and Quietly."
